Still trying to figure out a Thanksgiving menu like me? Well I’m not hosting this year. But I am planning to contribute at least a side and maybe a dessert and appetizer. I have selected my side to be Sweet Potato Casserole . . . in a crock pot! Yep. An oven will not be available (I’ll be traveling and my aunt (the hostess) has warned the oven has a solid schedule) but apparently a number of crock pots will be. My mom had the bright idea to attempt her awesome Broccoli Casserole in a crock pot so I racked my brain for a seemingly convertible favorite and am going with the Sweet Potato Casserole. I haven’t given it too much thought yet. Should probably do that. But you’ll have that post to look forward to!
I don’t think I’ve made my Cheesecake Supreme yet for this side of the family yet so that’s on my wish list for the dessert. And then I’ve seen some yummy appetizer recipes I’ve been wanting to give a go, just have to pick one and see if it’s possible.
But like I said, for those of you still looking for some yummy dishes to make, here are some suggestions!
SIDES
Buttery Herbed Carrots
Sweet Potato Casserole
Homemade Stuffing
Broccoli Casserole
DESSERTS
Cheesecake Supreme
Pecan Pie
While Thanksgiving is all about the turkey for most people, sweet potatoes are my favorite dish on Thanksgiving. Really, I love all the food, but mashed sweet potatoes are the ones that do it for me.
