Glazed Cocktail Meatballs

Glazed Cocktail Meatballs

Hands-on Time:  15 minutes
Total time:  20 minutes
Makes 32

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ small red onion (finely chopped)
  • ½ c bread crumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • salt
  • pepper
  • ½ c currant jelly

Combine beef, onion, bread crumbs, egg, and nutmeg; season with salt and pepper.  Shape into 1″ balls and broil until cooked through, 5 to 6 minutes.  In a large skillet, heat currant jelly; add the meatballs and toss to coat.

They are now my favorite homemade meatballs.  Yep, they’ve knocked down the reigning, homemade meatball, go-to party snack champ down a peg.
