As 2011 comes to a close, I’ve been looking back on the Recipe Realism posts of 2011. A number of recipes really stand out as exceptional. Hence came my idea for Recipe Realism’s first-annual, year-end ‘Best of . . .’ list. I established criteria to rate the recipes in attempt to help weed out the best of the best. As you can see, the decision wasn’t quite so obvious in some categories as it was in others.
Recipes were rated on the following criteria: ease, time, and taste. See if any of your Recipe Realism favorites made the list!
Beverage of the Year
Holiday Eggnog
Dessert of the Year
Crispy’s Irresistible Peanut Butter Marbles
Runner-up – Lemon-Raspberry Mousse Squares
Honorable Mention – Strawberry Shortcake
Side Dish of the Year
Buttery Grilled Corn
Snack/Appetizer of the Year
Buffalo Chicken Dip
and finally . . .
drum roll please . . .
Recipe of the Year
Creamy Pecorino Pasta
Runner-up – Spicy Beef Kebabs with Lime
Honorable Mention – Salami and Spinach Stromboli
Did any of your favorites make the list?
I think I forgot to tell you that I made the buffalo chicken dip for our holiday party. It was a huge hit! I also listened to your advice & made more savory dishes than sweet ones. Only two plates of cookies (almost NO takers!) & a bunch of protein-filled sides. The chicken dip, grape jelly meatballs & pigs in a blanket were all HUGE hits. Thank you!
I did wonder what Buffalo Chicken Dip recipe you were using. hehe Cool!
Sorry I didn’t get a chance to send my meatball recipe over to you, but I’m so glad you were able to get the one you were looking for. Too funny your Mom has had it all this time! hahaha
Sounds like your party went very well. Happy to help, my friend!
I love the Buffalo chicken dip but everything looks fantastic. Happy new year!
Buffalo chicken dip is the best! I was craving some last weekend and had all but one ingredient – canned chicken. And I’m NEVER out of canned chicken. lol I made sure to pick some up so I can chow down on it *this* weekend!
Happy New Year to you, too! Thanks, Lisa!
